This just in from Sofia, nexus of trans-galactic civilizations: The distinguished Bulgarian Space Research Institute tells us to stop trying to get in touch with extraterrestrial civilizations, because they're already among us (this is from the Daily Telegraph, perhaps needless to say). Lachezar Filipov, Deputy Director of the Institute, says, "Aliens are currently all around us, and are watching us all the time," but adds reassuringly, "they are not hostile towards us, rather, they want to help us." He goes on to explain that the human race as a whole is as yet insufficiently evolved to establish direct contact with our alien guests, but that we should be up to speed in 10 or 15 years. Intriguingly (if you're intrigued by this kind of thing), Mr. Filipov's name appears in the caption to the picture above. It isn't clear whether we're supposed to assume that this is, in fact, Mr. Filipov, or just a representative alien. If it is Mr. F., he clearly needs to look no further than his shaving mirror for conclusive evidence.
